The regions and areas of Florida uncovered
Whether you’re searching for a holiday home, permanent residence or investment property, the Sunshine State is the perfect place with its friendly sun and beautiful beaches.
For this reason, Florida property prices have risen significantly in the last few years. According to the Florida Association of Realtors, between July 2004 and July 2005, the rates increased by 33 per cent. However, inspite of the increase, many are still seeing Florida as a place for a sound property investment. If you wish to invest, here’s a quick tour of the Sunshine State.
North West Florida
Some of America’s best beaches nestle along this region’s coastline. Unfortunately, some have been ruined by extreme modernization and commercialization. The Tallahassee regional airport can be accessed from any of Florida’s airports run by UK. The main towns in Nort West Florida are Pensacola and Tallahassee. The later is Florida’s state capital and is the north-west’s largest habitable city.
North East Florida
This coastline borders the Atlantic. It is lined by golden beaches and miles of peninsulas flanked by barrier islands. Jacksonville airport is not very well served by flights from UK, but can be reached by air from inside Florida. North East Florida is dominated by the state’s largest city, Jacksonville. Ponte Vedra is one of the many exclusive communities in the region.
Central West Florida
One of the country’s fastest-growing regions, Central West is a popular destination for newbies. It boasts of over 90 miles of beaches which can be enjoyed all throughout the year under the sun. The place is highly accessible with regular charter flights to Tampa airport. Tampa is known to be the largest metropolitan area, but the city and surrounding areas tend to be fairly expensive.
Central Florida
This tourist central has the highest concentration of theme parks anywhere in the world. It is home to Disney World and Universal Studios. Because of this, access is fairly easy. Orlando International Airport is the main port of entry for arrivals from the UK. Investment buyers might want to look at Orlando as the perfect destination. It has property prices that are the cheapest in Florida.
Central East Florida
Central East Florida is a well loved holiday destination. Lake Okeechobee, the second-largest freshwater lake in the country, is found here. Another tourist attraction is the NASA Kennedy Space centre. With the regional airport at Daytona Beach, access is fairly easy. Tourists flock to Daytona Beach, dubbed ‘the most famous beach in the world’. Central East is also known for Melbourne and Fort Pierce.
South West Florida
The Gulf Coast has always been well known with property buyers, especially retirees. The place is known for its golf courses and fishing spots. Sarasota has a regional airport. By land, it is only a one-hour drive from Tampa. Sarasota, Naples and Venice are high end resorts.
South East Florida
The South East Florida is a winter getaway for the rich and famous. Also known as the Gold coast, property is very expensive throughout this area of Florida. It encompasses the beautiful Everglades with excellent and easy access. Miami has direct flights from the UK. Miami is the second-largest city in Florida. The Gold coast is also known for Fort Lauderdale and West Palm beach.
Florida Keys
The Keys is one of the most popular attractions in the state of Florida. It can be reached through Miami. Key West is the most popular tourist destination in this area..
