Italy takes the low road to popularity
For awhile, Italy’s property market was considered unknown territory, offering mostly properties in need of a great deal of renovation. 20 years later, Italy’s property market has changed dramatically. It now offers many updated, low level and low density developments compared to many other tourist destinations, which have developed and improved with vast urbanisations.
As many areas of Italy remain relatively undiscovered by Brit buyers, the country still offers comparatively lower property prices. Since Italy is now more accessible with flights from airports like Gatwick, Stansted and Manchester, overseas buyers are increasingly looking for good investment opportunities in Italy.
Italy’s southern most region Calabria is one such area yet to be discovered. But with the increase of direct flights to the area and property prices significantly lower than other neighboring countries, it can become a hotspot in Italy’s property market.
“Realpoint is now offering a number of new developments on the Calabria coast that tick all the right boxes in terms of purchase price, investment potential and location,” says Eddy Crompton, director of Realpoint property. “In fact, we would go as far as to say that our Calabria properties offer the best value for money around and expect Calabria to become one of the most successful property investment regions in Italy.”
Realpoint Property is marketing six different properties, ranging from studio apartments to three-bedroom villas, in Calabria. Property prices start from £30,000 for a studio apartment and £100,000 for a three-bedroom villa. One of their develoments, the Residencial Amusa is in the town of Caulonia Marina which has a fantastic view of the Ionian Sea. The apartments have a terrace, reinforced entrance door leading to living/dining area, kitchen, two bedrooms and one full bathroom with prices starting from around £50,000.
“As a company we only sell properties in Italy,” says Linda Travella of Casa Travella. “We feel that we can offer an exceptional service because we specialise.” Casa Travella is celebrating 20 years of service in Italy’s property market.
Casa Travella is presently promoting Metaponto, a residential village situated about one kilometres from the sea in Basilicata. Each group of apartments has its own pool. Properties, starting at £94,000, have two bedrooms and a bathroom, living room, kitchen, parking space, air conditioning and a veranda of 35 square metres.
