Portugal for Overseas Investors
Portugal is still the best place to beat – with its tranquil beaches, peaceful holiday locations, wonderful hot spots and of course, many golf courses, but when it comes to property investment, there is not many, except for some apartments in Algarve region being occupied by visitors and foreigners.
But in truth, there is so much to rave about Portugal: properties that investors need to have a second look. There is much income to be raised from commercial or residential areas and this is actually the guide for property investors in Portugal.
Portugal is a country that is fill with historic and interesting places, not just in the Algarve region, but there is the potential of tourism investments across the country. These places are usually thriving with people, especially during the Eastern holidays, bank holidays, half-term holidays and between the months of June and mid-October.
Aside from Algarve, the country also has its sights on some different exotic and interesting places which offer both tourism potential and the ability to lend out a property to expatriate executives and local professionals as well. There is also the commercial side of property investment opportunity in Portugal to take a closer look everything from hotels to restaurants to shopping facilities and even golf courses.
However, before buying a property in Portugal, buyers must remember that Portugal is not part of the European Union, and this is a country which is reliant on its self service based industry. This has already suffered significantly from the notion of off-shoring and near-shoring for cost efficiency. Therefore, in this case, the GDP annual growth is presently negligible and there are also numbers to support that Portugal is suffering from high unemployment status of its people. This means that an investor must be wary of looking for properties in Portugal and should be careful about locating for real estate investment.
