Property in Portugal
Why buy a property in Portugal?
Portugal is one of the most popular countries in Europe for those buying a second home, retiring abroad or even staring a new life overseas. This is of course partly due to its welcoming climate on the south coast. Portugal is warmed by the nearby Mediterranean and warmed by the Gulf Stream further north. But the country has further attractions. Although it is catching up fast with its more established European neighbors, it still manages to retain an unspoiled picturesque charm and a relaxed, easy-going way of life, especially further away from the bustling tourist developments of the Algarve and the larger cities.
Portugal is a country full of contrasts. The rural Minho and TrĂ¡s-Os-Montes in the north are the most traditional. These two regions have magnificent landscapes and are a must to visit. The south of the country is completely different. The Algarve has its beautiful sandy beaches and benefits from a warm Mediterranean climate all year around. It is being transformed into the holiday hotspot for the discerning holiday maker.
The Portugal property or housing market is quietly booming. One of the many reasons is because of the developments happening in the Algarve. The mentioned destination is home to numerous award winning Golf courses and some stunning properties that offer property investors and Golf lovers superb accommodation. The Algarve is one of the most worthwhile properties to consider investing in Portugal.
