The wonders of Portugal
Portugal is beginning to rival Spain and other countries in the eastern hemisphere of Europe, as it has beautiful beaches and warm weather to boast off, particularly in the Algarve. Security and environmental observance are strictly observed and implemented for people’s welfare.
Unlike Spain, where there is a saturation of the market, Portugal has managed to maintain its exotic beauty. Portugal property developers have realized that they have to plan construction well and avoid too much commercialization of Portugal’s environment.
Transportation is accessible and affordable. Flights bound for and from Portugal are available for as low as 150 pounds. Inside Portugal, traveling via land is easy as the motorways are connected to large and key cities.
For investors heavily into the buy-to-let market scheme, make sure that the property purchased for rental purposes should be located in an area with a strong rental and/ or tourist market.
Access to mortgages is no problem as Portuguese banks are more than willing to provide advice to buyers of property markets and lend good rates to foreign investors. Nonetheless, these banks are very selective in lending for properties located in rural areas. They would rather provide loans to urban properties as these can secure more returns.
Some news though: Minho is the most northern province of Portugal is lately becoming one property hotspot. Its climate consists of warm summers and balmy winters. Old, charming rustic provincial properties can be availed for £40,000.
Road infrastructure and telecommunications have improved the area, which makes local commute possible and easy from home to work and vice-versa, not to mention for tourists who are on budget trips.
